Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw aka Elizabeth Alice MacGraw was an American actress, activist for animals and a writer, who has won numerous awards. Her movies include Love Story (1970), Goodbye Columbus ( 1969) and The Getaway ( 1972). New York was her home and she was brought up in an artistic environment. Her first job was as a photographer's assistant and then moved on to acting and modeling. MacGraw was awarded her Golden Globe Award, for the most promising debutant. MacGraw quickly became famous after the 1970 hit film Love Story. She was nominated for the Academy Award and won a Golden Globe. After only three movies, MacGraw was named the top female debut at the box office around the globe. In 1972 her hand-footprints and autograph were engraved at Grauman's Chinese Theater. Other films she has appeared in are The Getaway Convoy Players as well as the TV miniseries The Winds of War. In 1991, her autobiography Moving Pictures came out. MacGraw was married three times.
