Silk was born Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. Ilkay Silk is the daughter of Peter Silk, who is an academic and Anna Silk, who's an actress, director, producer, playwright. Anna is able to recall the first moments she experienced as a child, including being a spectator at play rehearsals. Silk was a part of a variety of commercials when she was a kid. The year 1997 was the time she received an associate's degree from St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas was involved in at least two of the early stage productions which included Seven Menus (1997) and The Kitchen (1999). Silk started her career in acting by moving to Toronto, Canada, at the end of November in 1999. She then moved into Los Angeles for the remainder of that decade. Seth Cooperman became her husband in 2007, when they met during an ActorsWorkshop held in Los Angeles. They got married at a civil ceremony on the 10th of December 2009, after becoming engaged. They renewed their vows on April 10, 2011 at Fredericton during the context of a Jewish ceremony following her conversion to a Jew.
